Vertical length: 166.5cm, horizontal length: 35.0cm per part.

Paper, couplet. Couplet: “fragrant orchids, clear bamboos, refreshing winds, round moon and spring clouds”, upper part: “for two elder brothers”, inscription: “Chen Ziqing from Hushan”, seals: “Ziqing”, “Sanhu”. This piece was formerly collected by Li Xiangen, and donated to us by Li Xiangen's second son Li Guotai in 2010..

Chen Ziqing (1811-1889), also known as Jiyu, was born in Shunde, later moved to Yuanfeng, Xiangshan (today's Zhongshan). He was a scholar in 1846 during Qing Emperor Daoguang's reign. He was good at calligraphy and painting, and wrote Collected Poems of the Zhengzhen Gallery, etc..
