This album contains poems written by Ju Chao in the running script, such as Home-collected Books, Incomplete Album, Ink-making Picture, Inscription for Shicheng Song (with Preface), Friends on the Boat, Inscription for the Painting of Victory, Inscription for Zhao Rongbo's Photo, Tian Family's Daughter, Inscription for Erqiao Shanren's Collected Poems, and Inscription for Mr. Jiaoweng's Tea Brewing Picture. Seals: “Meisheng”, “Jinxi Hall”, “Waking up from a Dream”, “Meisheng's Calligraphy and Paintings”, “Mengxing Taoist”, “Ju Chao”, “Big Jiyang Hall”, etc. This piece was formerly collected by Li Xiangen, and donated to us by his eldest son-in-law in 2007..
Ju Chao (1811-1865), also known as Meisheng, was from Panyu, Guangdong. He was good at painting flowers, grasses and insects, with a pretty and charming touch. He was good at poetry, and authored Collected Poems of the Jinxi Hall, etc..
